Wordpress Cascading Drop Down Menu Manager

I managed to break free for 30 minutes and wrap up a small bug in the WordPress Menu Creator. As it stands we are at version 1.0.2 which is only a maintenance release to fix some issues when using widgets in conjunction with the menu manager.

Version 1.0.3 is actually the one I’m most eager to see production ready as we are adding in a jQuery feature that allows you to change the sort order of menu items by simply dragging the field to the position you desire. I’ll also add in a new feature where it can be used in WordPress MU sites allowing an administrator to deactivate the “DELETE” feature for menus. Several people have reported that when using our product with WordPress MU that some users delete their menu’s causing errors in the rendered template.

The WordPress Menu Creator will also be updated to take advantage of WordPress 2.7 and the automatic update feature now in beta. Chances are we will release the OpenRealty Guides and WordPress Guides at the same time since they share similar core code features for structure and the updates underway will be applied across each of those FREE products.

You can download WP Realty and WP Menu Creator in the WordPress extensions directory. WP Realty was transferred to the EZPro Realty project and WP Menu Creator was developed for The Brokers Edge. OR Menu Creator will also be a free product of The Brokers Edge.

Am testing the Menu Creator plugin on a client site.

I want to report a problem, not so much a bug, but what I term a serious missing piece. When you create submenu items, it does not display anywhere.

I would expect the submenu items to display along with the parents on the Edit Custom Menu, but they don’t. So there is no way to edit them.

The only way I even know they are created is because of the number shown under #Items on the Custom Menu Manager page.

This is serious since anyone who has a lot of menu items can’t edit or delete any of the submenu items. The only option is to delete the whole menu and start again … which is unacceptable.

Is 1.03 going to fix this?

I can’t seem to find the correct files. When I download and unzip the download from http://www.thebrokersedge.com/menu-creator/, the only thing in the file is the readme file and 3 screenshots. The actual plugin is not there?
    Can anyone help me please?
    Thanks.

I’ve been looking for the samples and videos you state on the website (Broker’s Edge) – where are they – the link you gave here on this site – leads to the stat page on wordpress.

I’m trying to figure out how to put a dynamic Drive accordian onto the website – no luck so far.

Craig sub menus are displayed inline and in order to get them to display the proper tag must be added to the template. I’ll get a tutorial done for this today.

    Hello,
I am using WP Menu Creator. I want to add title tags to each menu items so my navigation would be Sef. How can I do that?

This will be in the next release including the addition of the option to set the target of the link as in target=”_blank” for instance.

    Hi Jared,

I installed your menu manager at my site and configured it as shown in the instructions. However I can not get it to produce a vertical slide out menu like is shown at http://www.ultimateidx.com/menu-manager/.

You can see what is happening with the nested navigation at my site here:
    http://www.yourwhiteningteeth.com

Can you tell me what I need to do to get this menu to slide out like shown on the vertical menu at http://www.ultimateidx.com/menu-manager/?

    Thank you
    Evan

By the way when you go to my site it is the Main Menu navigation that is using the plugin.

Whitening Teeth is the main category
Teeth Whitening Tips is the sub-category that is nested under whitening teeth.

I have spent hours trying to figure this out so any support you can provide is much appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Evan
