REW PREN Hacking Action POST Removed!

After reconsidering my post about the potential legal action proposed by attorneys against REW, I’ve decided to remove the post to DRAFT state until I’m handed the URL to the website for the alleged Class Action Investigation.

As posted in a few blogs regarding real estate news, the information about the pending suggestions by the Justice Department are accurate and no fear of libel on my end concerns me.  But the idea of a class action initiation in the works requires me to hold that in limbo until I verify more than I already had.  Although I deem news worthy real estate events a favorite topic for publishing in my blog, I like to be certain that information is reasonably accurate and based solely on either solid facts from trusted information sources or express first hand knowledge.  Both of which keep writers out of hot water in regards to potential libel.

I will re-publish the details regarding the REW investigation later in the month when I get more information I can provide for examination and authentication by readers of my blog. 

I DO NOT HAVE THE URL FOR THE CLASS ACTION DOMAIN RELATED TO REW! Once that URL is verified I’ll republish the information given to me.

Updated:  I’ve discovered that the US Government tends to view companies who practice in ways that are anti competitive more agressively than in previous years largely due to the new anti-trust and anti-fraud laws having been passed since the Microsoft anti trust lawsuit.  I’ll keep you posted as news is given to me.  I make mention of this in response to several emails regarding this information.

    Jared don’t you think this looks like competitor bashing?

    KNOX suggests libel in your post on another blog which I’m not sure is accurate but this kind of stuff does no one any good and I’m surprised given your reputation in this business that you would stoop to this level simply to beat up on REW.

    Seriously Jared, what is the point in your post? Do you have an objective or is it just jealousy?

    I don’t know Morgan and after speaking with people who do I likely never intend to but those are things I keep to myself. I’m free to tell others what I think of the guy anytime I want if its based on discussions I’ve had with people I trust as reliable but your post seems to be made up entirely on speculation, hearsay, and rhetoric.

    I’m truly unhappy with this post in your blog and I’m normally interested in your writings but this one sucks.

    Hello Rick;

    I’ll answer your questions first and then I’ll correct you on an assumption.

    The point of the post is plainly Real Estate News. If I were to write on a drastic change in the interest rates or a new mandate handed down from the NAR I doubt very much you would ask “what is the point of the post” If I found out that a large real estate firm was ripping off people by forging documents and I deemed it something my readers would want to visit I would not feel bad about it so long as the information was in fact reliable. News reporting provides us that grace and freedom so long as we don’t venture into speculation and lies in an attempt to defame.

    Next jealousy comes up so often its just annoying. I have a friend who has two very beautiful daughters and both of them lead very clean lives, no dating, no parties, no drugs and so on. These two get verbally beat up all the time with a real common statement “you think you’re better than me” Do you get my point here? I’m not jealous of REW, we don’t even occupy the same business per se. I don’t do SEO, I’m not a hosting company, I’m not in the business he is in on any level. What exactly would I be jealous of?

    My entire business model is building resources for open source applications and custom template design. Little else honestly. I work predominantly for large companies and real estate firms that hire me for dozens and dozens of designs they wish to share or span across their entire domain or client base. Most of the people that hire me are firms that sell real estate hosting and design and they contract me for 10, 20, 30 + designs that they brand and package up for Realtors who buy their services. I’m not REW’s competitor.

    Now to correct you on an assumption if I may, and please keep in mind I value your input.

    KNOX? Yeah I know who he is and I have only respect for him. I read his blog, I visit his comments and I have nothing even remotely against him. But I think you have picked up his idea of “LIBEL” without really knowing what it is you are quoting.

    Some detective work would help in knowing that LIBEL is not actionable under those circumstances. Criminal law is burden of proof, civil law is a preponderance of the evidence. Any one searching in forums or court systems will likely find preponderance in my favor that much is certain. I could write that Morgan was a full time asshole and liar and never fear legal action. I could say hey the guy banned me from his forums not because I violated terms of use or I did something wrong, he did it because I moderate and administer other real estate forums. He’s an asshole. If however I called the guy a child molester and sodomite of farm animals without actually knowing that to be true I’d be in serious hot water. Thankfully I only know about his criminal acts I’ve been witness to and they don’t include either of those nasty things.

    You see, I do have intimate first hand knowledge of the Hacking of PREN as I’m not only the administrator I’m also one of the people that do routine daily backups of the database. I’ve even been contacted by legal counsel regarding this matter and action is going to be taken against REW, plain and simple fact.

    Any news paper would be free to pick up the story and publish it without restraint. It happens all the time and there is nothing that you can do so long as its based on truth.

    Speculation, Hearsay, Rhetoric? Okay running with those, I’ve cleared up speculation as I’ve witnessed what I’ve witnessed, hearsay? no I don’t trust it, and rhetoric just baffles me. I could write about what a punk Microsoft is for making web designers add additional meta tags required once IE8 is released and you would not bat an eye at the story. This is all about loyalty to REW and I unlike others do not fear the guy.

    I wrote a post called “Do you FEAR your webmaster?” and it was all about practices people face when dealing with really bad webmasters. I’m sorry to say Rick, I got most my material for the post based largely on things I come to learn about Morgan. I realized that my post would not have the un-bias it should so I canceled it.

    Rick, my post means nothing to Morgan, as he already admits what I’ve said in his own blog (we all have saved his threads many many times in a local folder) So I’ve said nothing that isn’t pretty much already known. Besides, Morgan Carey is being pursued by people that are not some sissy real estate agents and competitors, he is being pursued by predators who take down companies frequently. Those are the types of people I fear and I’m humbled by such power.

    I’m going to write about this subject every time I’m told I can and when reliable information is given to me I’m writing about it.

    Side Note someone can try and sue me for if they want:

    Morgan Carey in my personal experience as well as by his own admission guilty of the attacks on PREN and no one in their right mind would consider the attacks as trivial. These acts by an employee of REW are criminal acts and Morgan Carey being the CEO of his company falls directly in line of responsibility. You draw your own conclusions about this guy.
